we had a mom call in a few years ago saying her son had withdrawn from school and she didn’t want to have to pay for the semester’s services because he wasn’t in school. In doing some investigation into the subject it turned out that the kid had stopped talking with his good friends and there was a rumor at one point that he’d gotten married but then someone tracked down his roommate to find out the kid had been playing WoW 16 hours a day and received a 0.00 GPA causing his parents to pull him from school. Normally when we resolve situations with clients we explain how we came to the resolution… but in this case I couldn’t bare to tell the mom the truth. Too awkward.
Unrelated: slightly disappointed that the blog I found this from isn’t aviation-related.
